What is the Canada Education Savings Grant (CESG)?
About the CESG:
The government of Canada contributes 20% of the first $2,500 in annual contribution per child made to an Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). Since the 2007 Canadian federal budget, the maximum government contribution is $500 per year to a participating RESP.
The maximum lifetime contribution is $50,000. The maximum amount of grant per child is $7,200.
